A tour to explore the volcano during the cooler hours of the day, at sunset
After pick-up from your accommodation at approx. 2.30/3.00pm and accompanied by an expert guide, you will visit ancient craters and reach a panoramic viewpoint where you can admire the Bove Valley, the scene of recent eruptions. After this, you can explore lava caves before having a picnic at an extinct crater at an altitude of 2000 metres while watching the sunset. Returning to Catania at approximately 8.30/9.30pm. The excursion times depend on the season, during spring or summer it may start and finish later.

Recommended equipment: Closed and sturdy shoes with thick socks, a jacket due to lower temperatures at high altitude. Suitable shoes and jackets can be provided if needed, please notify in advance upon booking.
Requirements: Those not in good health, especially people suffering from cardiorespiratory diseases are strongly advised not to take part in this excursion. Departure from Piazza Federico di Svevia 32, Catania. Also a pick up at an agreed meeting point upon booking.
