A Full Day’s Trip that Leads You to The Summit of Europe’s Highest Active Volcano
Mount Etna summit advanced trek, in the safe hands of expert guides. Suitable for experienced trekkers who love extreme adventures. 10hrs duration.
After pick up from your accommodation, a cable car takes you to 2500 metres on the southern side of Mt Etna. Off-road vehicles then take you to an altitude of 2900 metres. Accompanied by an alpine-volcanologist guide, the trek continues for 2-3hrs uphill to 3250 metres. After walking to the highest craters of 3300 metres, a stop to enjoy the landscape and listen to commentary by the guides. Return to 3000 metres where you can enjoy a packed lunch, continuing afterwards, the descent passes the North-East Crater to the cable car at 2500 which takes you to 2000 metres. Return to Catania approximately 5.30-6 pm.

Recommended equipment: Closed and sturdy (trekking) shoes with thick socks, a jacket due to lower temperatures at high altitude. Suitable shoes and jackets can be provided if needed, please notify in advance upon book. Please let us know in advance if you are vegan/vegetarian or have food allergies.
Depart: Your accommodation in Catania or agreed meeting point.
Times: 7.30 am-5.30 pm. April-October.

NB: This tour involves approximately 6 hours of walking, reaching about 3330 metres in altitude, because of this, those who suffer from one of these conditions or who are in poor health, cannot participate in this excursion:
People with disabilities, Asthma, Heart problems or blood pressure, Obesity, Pregnancy, Those who have recently had surgery, Whatever other form of limitation that would not allow completion of the tour.
Itinerary changes: The tour itinerary may change according to the weather conditions of the Volcano and in government restrictions. In unfavourable weather conditions, the guide will decide an alternative route to the above.
Requirements: It is strongly advised not to participate in the tour if you are not in good health, especially if suffering from cardiac or respiratory disease. Please let us know in advance if you are vegan/vegetarian or have food allergies.
In case of abundant snow, the snowmobile will be used and the price will be € 169.00. The surplus will be asked of the customer on the day of the excursion, since it is not possible to estimate it in advance.
