Three beautiful Sicilian towns in one day!
Taormina, Savoca and Castelmola full-day tour begins with pick-up service at your accommodation or nearby, by luxury 8-seater vehicle in Catania or at a close meeting point.
The first stop is the medieval town of Savoca, there, a visit to one of the catacombs of the “Cappuccini Convent“ where the mummified bodies of monks and nobles from Savoca are kept. At the Bar Vitelli, famous for being the place where many scenes from the movie, ‘The Godfather’ were filmed, you can taste a delicious Sicilian granita while looking at the stills taken during the film shooting.
The second stop is the majestic town of Taormina where you can visit the Greek Theatre (ticket is not included ), which offers a unique panorama of the sea and Mount Etna. Walking along Corso Umberto, you can visit the Cathedral and enjoy the stunning view of Capo Taormina bay. In Taormina you can sample free delicious typical Sicilian products, with water and Mt Etna red wine, or, If you prefer, a free hour to do as you please.
Next stop medieval Castelmola, where there are fantastic views of Etna and the Ionian sea. After walking the narrow streets, the last stop is “Bar Turrisi”, a typical Sicilian bar for a good coffee or almond wine. Return to Catania at approximately 6 pm.
