Pick-up service on board a luxury 8 seater vehicle from your accommodation in Catania (or an agreed meeting point), begins your full day’s tour.
The trip commences with a visit to the Neapolis in Syracuse, the famous archaeological site located in Syracuse where you will find the Greek Theatre, Ear of Dionysius and the Latomie. After spending an hour and a half here, you will then leave for the beautiful peninsula of Ortigia where you will visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo then walk on to the Duomo square with its beautiful white Cathedral of “Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception”, erected on the Ancient Greek temple of Athena. From there, the walk will continue to the Fountain of Arethusa, a legendary freshwater spring and fountain. Lunchtime you’ll be offered the choice of free tasting of Sicilian Street Food or to take an hour of free time to spend as you please.
Explore the Sicilian Baroque and Unesco Heritage Site, Noto
After lunch you will be driven to Noto, a jewel of Sicilian Baroque and Unesco Heritage Site and considered an “open-air museum”. Passing along its main street coming from the “Porta Reale”, the Church of St. Francesco with the majestic staircase can be seen as well as Palazzo Ducezio, located in Piazza Municipio. Together with the many palaces and churches, you must visit the Cathedral with the Bishop’s Palace and Church of San Salvatore. Return to Catania at approximately 6 pm.
