First Stop is the lively capital city of Palermo. Layers of Arab, Norman French & Spanish occupiers have all left their print on the city. Today, Palermo is a unique mix of styles, architecture and art, earning a place as one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Walking through the narrow ancient streets, to its vibrant market La Vucciria, a scene of incredible sounds, scents and sights combined with Arab-Norman palaces and churches. Here, free tastings of traditional Street Food with Mt Etna wine and water, if you prefer, an hour of free time to explore. Afterwards, chosen in advance, onwards to Cefalù or Monreale.
Cefalù
Originally a fishing village is famous for its UNESCO World Heritage Listed Norman Cathedral and for its narrow streets lined with boutiques and art stalls. A magical place to wander and savour the atmosphere.
Monreale
The Arab-Norman cathedral in Monreale has 6300 square meters of dazzling Byzantine mosaics depicting biblical scenes on a gold background is truly breathtaking and deserves its place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After Monreale, the trip back to Catania at approximately 7 pm.
