Hike through local nature and unique lava formations, usually on the north-east side of Etna
After pick-up and transfer, the Mount Etna winter tour full day begins at a scenic spot overlooking the Bove Valley, the site of recent eruptions to admire the view on the Summit Craters.
Next, a visit to a volcanic cave using the provided safety equipment. If ice & snow prohibit this, an alternative route will be suggested. A typical lunch of Sicilian products accompanied by wine is provided at a typical Etna Rifugio. (Vegans, vegetarians & coeliac may be catered for if notifying us upon booking). After lunch, a hike through local nature and unique lava formations, usually on the north-east side of Etna, takes place until transfer back to the Catania area in the late afternoon/early evening.
NB: In the case of trails being covered by a thick layer of snow (sometimes in the early months of the year), snowshoes and sticks are provided. This causes the tour to be more physically exerting.
