A Full Day’s Tour to The Base of The Summit of One of The World’s Highest, Most Active Volcanoes
Mount Etna Summit Easy Trek is suitable for most people.
After pick-up from your accommodation or agreed meeting place, we arrive at Rifugio Sapienza to take the cable car up to 2500 meters and a 4×4 vehicle to an altitude of 2950 meters. Accompanied by an expert volcano guide, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the volcano in front of the central and southeastern craters, amidst both recent and ancient lava flows.

Returning to Rifugio Sapienza we head towards Monte Nero degli Zappini to explore the geological and botanical wonders of Mt Etna. After, a picnic lunch of authentic Sicilian “Tavola Calda” (street food) with sweets, water and local wine. In the afternoon, a chance to explore a volcanic cave. Return to Catania approx. 5.30/6 pm.

Recommended equipment: Closed and sturdy (trekking) shoes with thick socks, a jacket due to lower temperatures at high altitude. Suitable shoes and jackets can be provided if needed, please notify in advance upon booking.

Requirements: It is strongly advised not to participate in the tour if you are not in good health, especially if suffering from cardiac or respiratory disease. Please let us know in advance if you are vegan/vegetarian or have food allergies.
Itinerary changes: The tour itinerary may change according to the weather conditions of the Volcano or government restrictions. In unfavourable weather conditions, the guide may decide an alternative route to the above.
In case of abundant snow, the snowmobile will be used and the price will be €189 per adult and student and 105€ for children from 0-12. The excess will be asked of the customer on the day of the excursion, since it is not possible to estimate it in advance.
